Michael Brangwynne is an Officer based in the firm’s Boston office. His practice is focused on trust and estate, commercial and tort litigation. Mr. Brangwynne regularly represents clients in matters arising in the administration of trusts and estates, including actions for breach of fiduciary duty, will and trust contests, accountings, and claims of undue influence, lack of testamentary capacity and fraud. Mr. Brangwynne also represents businesses and individuals in disputes arising in the construction, real estate development, leasing, zoning and closely held business contexts. Additionally, Mr. Brangwynne has extensive experience both prosecuting and defending complicated tort actions, including actions for personal injury, medical malpractice, and wrongful death.
Mr. Brangwynne earned his Bachelor’s degree from Tulane University. He graduated cum laude from Suffolk University Law School and is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and Maine. Mr. Brangwynne is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. During law school, he worked as a law clerk for the City of Boston Zoning Board of Appeals, as well as serving as a summer intern for the Honorable Christopher Muse of the Massachusetts Superior Court.
Mr. Brangwynne was selected as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers magazine for the years 2013–2023, and was named a Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly “Go To Business Litigation Lawyer” in 2024. Mr. Brangwynne has served as an adjunct professor at Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School, where he teaches a class on the principles of business law. He also served as a member of the City of Watertown Zoning Board of Appeals for seven years.
