Fletcher Tilton PC secured critical permit approvals for the redevelopment of Worcester’s historic St. Casimir School property, culminating in Worcester Planning Board approval on December 18, 2024. The firm guided client 22 Waverly LLC through the permitting process and planned redevelopment of the 27,024-square-foot former school building.
The property, located at 22 Waverly Street and including an adjacent parking lot at 54 Harrison Street, was sold by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Worcester. The three-story building, originally constructed in 1924, served as Saint Casimir School until 1986 and later housed the Worcester Alternative School until June 2024.
Fletcher Tilton’s real estate team worked throughout Fall 2024 to secure the project’s designation as an “Eligible Development” and obtain necessary Planning Board approvals, paving the way for the property’s adaptive reuse. The historic building represents a significant redevelopment opportunity in Worcester’s real estate market.
The transaction marks another successful collaboration between Fletcher Tilton and Worcester’s development community, demonstrating the firm’s expertise in complex real estate transactions and permitting processes.
