WORCESTER, MA – March 13, 2025 – Fletcher Tilton PC is pleased to announce that Attorney Karen M. LaFond has been elected to the firm’s Management Committee for a five-year term. LaFond, a distinguished member of the firm’s Transactional Group, brings decades of experience in commercial finance, real estate, and corporate law to this leadership position.

LaFond represents regional and national lenders and borrowers in all aspects of commercial finance transactions, including mortgage financing, asset and equipment-based lending, and commercial and industrial loans. Her practice also encompasses matters involving bond financing, U.S. Small Business Administration debenture financing, tax credit financing, and private equity.

Her impressive portfolio includes lender representation in numerous high-value transactions, such as a $53 million commercial financing for construction of a residential apartment complex, a $17 million bond financing for a non-profit educational institution, and a $40 million commercial development financing for warehouse construction. She also represented an owner in $48 million financing for construction of a residential apartment tower.

In 2023, LaFond was selected as a member of the class of Top Women of Law by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly and named to the Power 50 in Real Estate by the Worcester Business Journal. She has previously been recognized as a Rising Star by Massachusetts Super Lawyers and named among the top Massachusetts lawyers by both Boston Magazine and Law & Politics Magazine.

Beyond her legal practice, LaFond is actively involved in the community. She serves as a Trustee for Worcester State University and is a member of the Board of the Worcester Regional Research Bureau.

LaFond earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire and graduated from Suffolk University Law School. She is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and is a member of the Worcester County Bar Association and Massachusetts Bar Association.
