Fletcher Tilton attorneys Fred Misilo and Anne Grenier participated in the annual LIFE Family Conference held from April 25-27, 2025, at the new Margaritaville Resort Cape Cod in Hyannis. The weekend event featured a variety of activities supporting LIFE (Living Independently Forever, Inc.), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1993 that serves over 260 individuals with autism, learning and intellectual disabilities across southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod.
Both attorneys demonstrated their commitment to the LIFE community by participating in the annual Lovin’ LIFE 5K on Saturday morning, April 26th. The race welcomed participants of all abilities and served as a fundraiser for LIFE’s Special Olympics teams.
Later that evening, over 370 attendees enjoyed at “A Night of Stars,” the organization’s annual gala benefit. The star-studded, red-carpet event honored the many stars at LIFE and featured hors d’oeuvres, a plated dinner, dessert, dancing with a professional DJ, a photo booth, and a silent auction with exciting prizes.
On Sunday, April 27th, the conference continued with educational workshops for both LIFE participants and their families. Fred Misilo, managing partner at Fletcher Tilton and LIFE Board Director, led Workshop B: “Protecting Your Loved One: Understanding Legal & Financial Planning.” He was joined by Grenier. The workshop provided valuable insights on essential legal considerations for families of individuals with disabilities.
The Sunday program also featured a keynote address by Dr. Michael Ashley Stein, an internationally recognized expert on disability law and policy, who was introduced by Ron Suskind, New York Times Journalist, LIFE parent, and personal friend of Dr. Stein.
“We’re proud to support LIFE’s mission of empowering individuals with disabilities to live independently,” said Misilo. “Both the 5K and our workshop allowed us to engage with this remarkable community in meaningful ways.”
The Family Conference concluded with a “State of the Organization” address by LIFE CEO Cheryl Evans, who provided insights on organizational updates and long-range plans.
