New USCIS Filing Fees Temporarily Suspended

As previously reported, U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) recently published a set of significant fee increases, for nearly all types of immigration filings. The new filing fees were scheduled to become effective on October 2, 2020, or later. The USCIS announcement, which includes a link to the proposed new fee schedule, can be found here.
Yesterday, however, a U.S. District Court granted a preliminary injunction, that has temporarily suspended implementation of the new filing fees. Click here for full court order. For the immediate future, our clients—and all other applicants for U.S. immigration benefits—can continue to submit matters with USCIS, using preexisting filing fees.
