Mark L. Donahue
Mark L. Donahue is an Owner of the firm and serves on the firm's Management Committee. His practice focuses on commercial real estate, land use law, and advising private and family owned businesses in corporate ownership and succession. Attorney Donahue counsels closely held corporations, developers, and individuals.
Satisfying complex land use and regulations to develop Massachusetts commercial and residential projects is a regular service provided for clients of Mark L. Donahue. He represents local, regional and national developers before various local and state boards and agencies on land use matters. Attorney Donahue also serves as counsel to a number of closely held entities from start-ups to mature companies with sales over $65 million, assisting with stockholder agreements, succession planning, and mergers and acquisition matters.
Given his considerable public speaking experience, Attorney Donahue often serves as moderator for programs conducted by the Worcester Bar Association, the Worcester Area Chamber of Commerce as well as the Corridor Nine Chamber of Commerce. He has been a speaker at the WPI Business Fundamentals Boot Camp, addressing agreements between equity owners. He is a member of various professional organizations, including the Worcester Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association.
Beyond his professional duties, Attorney Donahue serves as Chairman of the Northborough Industrial Development Commission. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Corridor Nine Chamber of Commerce, where he is the past Chairman, and the YMCA of Central Massachusetts.
Attorney Donahue is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts. He received his B.A. from the University of New Hampshire and earned his J.D. with honors from Suffolk University Law School.

Attorney Donahue served as lead permitting counsel in developing and implementing the strategy for the reuse of a closed, contaminated industrial site into a 250,000-square-foot, mixed use facility. He represented a Fortune 100 retailer in the permitting and construction of stores throughout central Massachusetts, including the permitting required for stores in excess of 200,000 square feet. He also successfully negotiated and obtained all necessary permits for the construction of a 196-unit residential development in Worcester County.
He developed a tax-efficient manner to transfer over a period of time both voting and financial control of a company with sales in excess of $30 million to a new generation of family shareholders. Attorney Donahue also negotiated a joint venture/acquisition agreement between two manufacturers in the same field, which allowed his client to increase sales by more than 35 percent.
