When is it most appropriate to use one savings option over the other?

Join us for a discussion on Savings Options for an Individual who is dependent on SSI, MassHealth, SNAP, Section 8 and other sliding scale fee or needs based benefits.

Many advocates have heard of the ABLE Act which allows some individuals who are isabled to save up to $15,000 per year in a tax protected savings account similar to a 529 Account. If properly funded, this account is not deemed as a resource when determining eligibility for SSI or MassHealth.
