Belmont High School Alum Find Home At Fletcher Tilton PC
Featuring Matthew J. Eckel, Michael E. Brangwynne, Adam C. Ponte and Anthony M. Moroso on February 28, 2023The four attorneys agree that sharing the same alma mater creates a strong bond within the firm, having grown up together and being members of the same sports teams, even as early as elementary school. Ponte says, “It was a pure coincidence that the four of us somehow reconnected later in life, all through this law firm. It was just about being at the right place at the right time, and wanting to grow our legal practices together. Of course, having attended the same elementary school, we never could have imagined being in this position 30 years ago.”
Both Attorneys Brangwynne and Eckel attended Suffolk University Law School together and previously held positions with the City of Boston Zoning Board. Attorney Moroso is the youngest of the group, and though he did not attend Belmont High School at the same time as the others, the firm found him to be a perfect fit for the busy litigation practice group. Attorney Moroso grew up in a family that owned and operated a general contracting business, so he appreciates the need to drive deadlines and achieve results. “We all stayed in touch to some extent and knew that we were lawyers, so when openings came up at Fletcher Tilton it kept working out that the person was a good fit,” states Brangwynne.
Another commonality for three members of this group is a law class they took at Belmont High called “You and the Law.” Brangwynne, Eckel and Moroso all claim it was their favorite class and agree their late teacher, Kevin McMullen, was simply the best. According to Eckel, Mr. McMullen was “a Belmont legend in his own right.”
The four currently live in towns surrounding Boston and work at Fletcher Tilton PC’s Boston office and Worcester headquarters. Although they joined the firm at different times - Ponte joined in 2014, Brangwynne in 2019, Moroso in 2021 and Eckel in 2023 - they share similarities in their practices. Ponte, Brangwynne and Moroso are litigation focused with expertise in complex civil litigation and real estate and construction litigation. Attorney Eckel maintains a focus related to real estate but emphasizing zoning, permitting and transactional matters. All four of the men share excitement for their futures at Fletcher Tilton PC.
