Preparing for the Future

We understand that estate planning is a multipronged effort involving a number of professionals. Our attorneys work closely with our clients, their accountants, insurance agents and financial advisors to insure the full coordination and successful implementation of their estate plans.

The estate planning group prepares wills and various forms of trusts to reduce or eliminate federal estate taxes. Instruments they establish include Revocable Trusts, QTIP Trusts, Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts, Qualify Personal Residence Trusts (QPRTS), Charitable Lead Trusts, Unitrusts, Generation Skipping Trusts, Supplemental Needs Trusts and private foundations.
We also counsel clients on valuation strategies, such as family limited partnerships and corporate recapitalizations. For plans involving the gift of assets from one generation to the next, we help clients value the assets being gifted, typically cash, marketable securities, closely-held stock or real estate. We offer advice on applicable minority or marketability discounts where appropriate, and prepare the necessary federal gift tax returns.
